Baby Costumes As Gifts!

My friend is due with her first child in a couples weeks. In anticipation, I got her a few baby costumes for a gift after her son is born (Kristine, if you’re reading this I am sure you guessed this by now, so I don’t think I’m spoiling the surprise.)

Why baby costumes as a gift to new parents? Well, before I worked at BuyCostumes.com I would have never thought of it. But it’s unusual and fun. And no new parent is going to be thinking about costumes except for Halloween. But there is no reason not to. Costumes are fun and cute, and can be worn year-round. And many of the infant costumes are designed for comfort so why not have a little fun? Is there anything cuter than a baby as a slice of pizza?

So what did I get her?

(Kristine, please stop reading now.)

Superbowl XLIV- Own the Moment

Well, on February 7, 2010, the day will come where men and women across the country, around the world, of all ages, will gather around their tv’s, in living rooms, bars, and restaurants to watch the Superbowl…commercials and halftime. I’m just kidding, but even if you aren’t a fan of football or your least favorite team is playing, everyone gets a “kick” out of this Sunday Funday. It’s always a reason to stay in and make chili or have some chips and dip and socialize with friends. Everyone knows that companies pay an arm and a leg for this advertising, which is the reason why it’s often so anticipated. Because of the current recession, Superbowl ad prices have gone DOWN in cost this year. Some companies, like Frito Lay Doritos are challenging internet users to create the commercials!

So bust out that crock pot and get ready to judge those commercials. And for the football fans, this year should actually be an exciting game! It’s predicted to be a high scoring game with fan favorite quarterbacks Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints and Peyton Manning of the Indianapolis Colts. Online Fan polls are mostly split 50-50 as to who will “outwit, outlast & outplay”. The Colts have one Superbowl win against the bears under their belts in the 2006 season and the Saints are giving a go at their first Championship.

Whether you are going to be watching the game, or the commercials, BuyCostumes.com has just what you need. Of course we have Superbowl XLIV “Own the Moment” themed party supplies. We also have NFL themed supplies, whether you want to get them for the Saints, the Colts or another favorite. We have football shaped piñatas, inflatable goal post coolers, and penalty flags. (which work GREAT when anyone commits a party foul). We have costumes for everyone: referees, cheerleaders, and football players. We also have decorations, beads and serving trays!

What are your plans for this year’s Big Game?!

Valentine’s Day

Right after the holidays, it’s always nice to have a break from all the hustle and bustle. But soon enough we are searching for anothe reason to celebrate. Well, what do you know, Valentine’s Day is almost a month away. That’s right! All of you in a relationship, that special someone is looking for a perfect night to celebrate your love. And those that are single and unattached, well you can either do two things. You can a)mope around and not accomplish anything or b)celebrate the fact that you are single and don’t have to waste your money on sappy greeting cards and expensive flowers. Last year, a huge group of my friends decided to host a Valentine’s day party for the single AND the attached. HECK! Even if you are in a relationship, would you rather go to a stuffy, romantic dinner, or a guaranteed good time at an all day party!

We decorated the house to the nines! BuyCostumes has some REALLY cute streamers and heart decorations. Anything thats pink, red, purple, lacy, or sparkly will do the trick!

We made sure we had plenty of food and beverages around. There were PINK rice krispy marshmallow treats, plenty of sweets and pink punch!
To make things even more fun, have guests dress in costume. Whether you choose to be sexy or sweet, it will be a great opportunity for cute photos!
And if you do have guests that want to celebrate the reason for this holday, The Beheading of St Valentine himself, well, we have plenty of headless costumes and black colored accessories and outifts!
