This fall, acclaimed comic book series The Walking Dead will premiere on television network AMC.  The show – created for television by Frank Darabont (director of The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile) – follows a group of survivors struggling to find a new home after a zombie apocalypse destroys civilization.  

The comic series, written by Robert Kirkman is a monthly black & white comic that has been published by Image Comics since October of 2003.

Following rave reviews at last weeks San Diego Comic Con, the television series looks primed to do for the zombie genre what the Twlight series has done for vampires.

Hot on the heels of acclaimed shows Mad Men and Breaking Bad, AMC will premiere The Walking Dead this October.
