It’s the most wonderful time of the year…

As our internal clocks complete the adjustment to daylight savings time, and memories of Halloween slowly fade into the shadows, sparks of Thanksgiving and Christmas start to jump to the forefront of our minds. Thanksgiving is not just a holiday for awesome food, good times with family, and football. It also flags the onset of one of the most anticipated shopping days of the year – Black Friday. Hallowang 2010

Halloween is so much fun that is should be celebrated twice a year!

What is Hallowang you ask? Its Halloween’s half birthday; it’s celebrated the last Saturday in April. Hallowang was founded on the principle that Halloween is so much fun that is should be celebrated twice a year. Hallowang was started in 2006 in the great city of Milwaukee and has since then continued every year.

There are a few differences between Halloween and Hallowang:

1. Hallowang is always celebrated on a Saturday
2. Hallowang is not scary – so save those scary costumes for Halloween

Captain America — Back from the Dead!

The superhero favorite Captain America will be “brought back to life” in a new line of comic books by Marvel Comics. The series of the comic classic returns after the fictional character’s tragic assassination back in 2007.

Although details of the Captain America’s “rebirth” have been tightly under wraps by Marvel, the series is bound to earn success with fans that have anxiously awaited the superhero’s return. The five part series entitled “Captain America Reborn” will be released early next month.

Along with the new series, more will be seen of this action star who is set to make the jump onto the big screen in the summer of 2011.

Flip Your Wig!

Wigs are awesome, aren’t they?!? I would wear a different one every day if I could… well, that would be a lot of wigs, but anyway, they are totally fun. BuyCostumes.com has about a gazillion wigs to select from (okay, well probably closer to a thousand, but still–a lot!), so that you may either add the perfect touch to your awesome costume, or so that you may simply have the magnificent and wonderous wig you’ve always dreamed of. …Like the Glowfro! NEW YORK, NY – October 25, 2007 – The search term “hannah montana costume” was the most popular among all U.S. Internet searches that contained the phrase “costume” for the week ending October 20, 2007 according to Hitwise, the leading online competitive intelligence service.

The websites receiving the most traffic from the term “hannah montana costume” were Costumzee.com, PriceGrabber.com, Celebrate Express, Target.com and Shopzilla. Other popular costume searches included Halo 3’s Master Chief, pirates, Wonder Woman, Little Red Riding Hood, and Tinkerbell. The top descriptive search terms used for Halloween costumes include perennial favorites such as sexy, funny, homemade and cool. Also among the popular descriptive searches were “cheap halloween costume ideas” which increased 305 percent and the term “adult halloween costume” which increased 336 percent versus last year.
